Arenal Tours Discount FAQ
Which tours do you recommend to do?
The Arenal and La Fortuna area is best for hiking, outdoor adventure and wildlife. For specific recommendations, you can read our favorite things to do in Arenal post.
A few of our favorite activities are the cooking class, the night walk, the river safari floats and the Arenal Volcano hike.
I’m traveling alone. Can I still get the discount?
If there is already a tour running, you can join as a solo traveler. Most tours have a minimum of either 2-4 people so we will check availability and let you know. If it isn’t available, we can keep checking or give you other options. Otherwise, you will have to pay for the minimum amount of spaces in order for the tour operator to open the tour.
For example, if a tour requires at least 2 adults to run and there isn’t anyone else booked, you will have to pay for 2 spaces to run the tour as a solo traveler.
It says tours include transportation. I have my own car, can I drive and meet the group?
If you have a car, you will drive to the tour operator’s office in La Fortuna to meet the shuttle for pick up. There is no discounted rate for it.
The tour operator provides transportation from hotels in downtown La Fortuna to Tabacon. If your hotel is outside the free pick up zone and has an extra fee, we will let you know. These are hotels like Arenal Observatory Lodge, Chachagua Rainforest Lodge and Lost Iguana. We will send you the location of the tour operator’s location and parking lot when your reservation is confirmed so you know where to go to meet the group.
I’m staying at an Airbnb/vacation rental. Can I still get picked up?
No, transportation is not provided from Airbnbs and vacation rentals. You will need to go to the closest hotel for pick up and drop off or if you have a car, you can meet the group at the downtown office.
Can I pay in cash or credit card?
The invoice we send you can be paid via credit/debit card or Paypal.

We booked the kayaking tour for our family trip and had the great time! The weather was not on our side since it was rainy and foggy but our guide was awesome and pointed out local fauna on the water’s edge and kept us safe!
Would highly recommend!
Sammi says
Hi Blyss, thank you so much for your feedback, we’re sorry to hear the weather wasn’t on your side but that at least you still had good time on the tour with the guide!
Renee says
What is the canyoning excursion called? I don’t see anything with the word canyoning listed in the dropdown
Sammi says
Hi Renee, we have a separate booking form for the canyoning tour, you can find it here and fill it out to request to book with our discount: Canyoning in La Fortuna

I booked a Pure Nature Safari Float with Jacamar Tours thru you. This tour made our entire vacation awesome! We saw nearly every species of animals Costa Rica is known for to include each of the monkey types, iguanas, gators, lizards, sloths, birds galore, and the list goes on and on. Your recommendation for the tour was spot on, and I appreciate all the help provided with scheduling the tour’s day/time! Our guides were AWESOME and worked hard to show/tell us about all the animals that were possible to see on the river. As a recommendation from the guides… book your tours for the afternoons for a better experience. We got back to La Fortuna late, so I recommend bringing snacks for the kids. Again, THANK YOU!
Sammi says
Hi Charles, thank you for the comment and feedback 🙂 We greatly appreciate it and we’re glad to hear you had a good time on the tour!

Hi there. We are in tamarindo and we passed a truck that had your sign on it and I was wondering if you have an office here that we can talk and book something?
Sammi says
Hello!! You can send us an email via our Contact Mytanfeet form and our team will get back to you!
Ray Arthur says
Hello – we’ve read about your tour that includes the Arenal Hanging Bridges, La Fortuna waterfall, Arenal 1968 Hike, and The Baldi Hot Springs. Do you still offer that? If so, what is the name of the selection? Also, we have 3 children coming with us, ages 5, 11, and 13. Are those ages okay for that tour, or would that be too much for the 5 yo? If so, is there another recommendation you’d have for our family of 5? Thanks!
Sammi says
Hello Ray, we’ve sent you an email with more information but it’s called “Combination tour” in the drop down list. Our partners unfortunately do not offer it anymore with Baldi but there are three other options and your children are perfectly able to do the tour.
Leah M says
I would be interested in learning more about that recommendation, too. Traveling with children ages 15, 13 & 11.
Sammi says
You can find the “Combination tours” in the drop down list, the hot springs options are now Ecotermales, The Springs and Paradise.
Kerry Cowley says
We’ll have eight full days in Costa Rica, arriving late evening at SJO on February 5. There are four of us, including my 4 1/2 year-old granddaughter. I haven’t been able to find any zip line tours that offer tandem zip lining for that age. Do you know of any that would do so so we don’t have to split up with some of us doing zip lining, and others doing hanging bridges? With our limited time, what would be the best way to split up sites in the Arenal volcano area, Monte Verde, and Manuel Antonio? we wouldn’t want to spend more than a few hours at the actual beach. Will one location offer a lot better zip lining experience?
Sammi says
Hi Kerry, we sent you an email regarding one of our partners that allows children with a minimum age of 4 that is about a 1.5 hr drive from San Jose, the park is Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park. You can also check our Costa Rica 11 Days Itinerary that goes exactly to La Fortuna, Monteverde and Manuel Antonio and then tweak it to your liking.
Aliza Hunnicutt says
We are traveling with a toddler, he will be just under 2 when we are in La Fortuna. We would love to do a chocolate/coffee tour, is he allowed to come with us? I don’t see a minimum age listed but know there are lots of things we are limited from with his age. If he is welcome, is it the same children’s price listed?
Sammi says
Hello Aliza! There is no minimum age for the chocolate/coffee tour so he can join you.
Ak Sax says
Hello, what would you recommend for our family, we have a 6 year old and 3.5 year old?
Sammi says
Unfortunately with a 3.5 year old, you will be limited to the adventure activities since most tours require a minimum age of 5 or 8. With our partner, they have Proyecto Asis, Arenal Lake by BOat and Peninsula Trail, Coffee tour, coffee & Chocolate, chocolate tour, coffee + chocolate + sugar cane, Pura vida cooking class, sunset view on boat at arenal lake and the real cano negro tour – wildlife refuge available for 3 year olds.
Justin Wacker says
Hello,
Thank you for the great blog. This page has been really helpful in planning our time in La Fortuna/Arenal. Do you have a similar tour discount page for Monteverde or Manuel Antonio?
Thanks!
Sammi says
Hi Justin, we do offer discounts for Manuel Antonio you can check here: https://mytanfeet.com/special-deals/quepos-and-manuel-antonio-tours-discount/
Unfortunately we don’t have any discounts for Monteverde but we do book tours! https://mytanfeet.com/special-deals/monteverde-tours-booking/
stephanie Prescott says
Hello
Do you have a tour to pick up in playa Conchal for a day at Arenal combo tour ?
Sammi says
Hello, we do but it doesn’t include all 4 activities like this one because of time constraints (4 hours per way driving from Conchal to Arenal). From Guanacaste, you’ll go to one place, either the volcano hike or hanging bridges and then hot springs. We have a small discount for this tour which you can check here: Guanacaste tours discount however it does require a minimum of 4 people and these are shared services. IN case you want a private, please write a note in the comment section
Michael says
Hola, I am interested in trying to squeeze a volcano hike, hanging bridges, canyoning and maybe even a safari boat ride all in one day. Is there any combos for all this? Maybe a sunset safari boat ride?
Sammi says
Hi Michael, it is not possible to do all five activities in one day. WE have Volcano hike + hanging bridges in one day or you can do canyoning + penas Blancas safari float in one day so you need at least two days.
