The Club Rio Outdoor Center is built around the Arenal River. You don’t need to be a guest at the Springs Resort to enjoy Club Rio and the best way to experience their adventure park is the multi adventure package.
Our partnership gives a $10 Club Rio discount for the multi adventure package which includes lunch, transportation, a 2 day hot spring pass and 2 activities from the following: guided wildlife sanctuary tour, guided nature walk, horseback riding, river tubing, inflatable kayaking and rock wall climb and rappel. Club Rio Discount FAQ
How do I get to Club Rio Outdoor Center?
Club Rio is on the property of The Springs Resort and Spa in La Fortuna. For those with their own rental car, you will need to drive to the Springs Resort property and park there. Club Rio is 1.5 kilometers below the hotel and they have a free shuttle every 30 minutes up and down to Club Rio. We will send you the starting times and let you know what time to be there in the confirmation.
When you enter the property, you must tell the guard you are there for Club Rio and give him your name (main name on the reservation).
Round trip transportation is included in the Club Rio multi adventure package from nearby hotels in La Fortuna. Private transportation is also offered for an extra charge.
Can I drive there and park for free?
Yes, you can park at the Springs Resort property for free to go to Club Rio. You’ll take a shuttle from the Springs lobby to Club Rio.
What is included in the multi adventure package Club Rio discount?
The Club Rio multi adventure package includes round trip transportation from hotels in La Fortuna, lunch (a la carte at the Club Rio restaurant), a 2 day hot spring pass and 2 of the following activities: horseback riding, inflatable kayaking, river tubing, guided nature walk, rock wall climb and rappel and guided wildlife sanctuary tour.

Can I split up the activities?
All activities and lunch must be done in one day, you can’t split it up and do one activity one day and another the next.
The two day hot spring pass is allowed for consecutive days. They cannot be split up.
How long are activities?
Each activity is 1 hour.
How long can I stay at Club Rio?
If you require transportation, the return shuttle leaves at 6 PM.
What is the kayaking and river tubing like?
The kayaking and river tubing go down the same section of the Arenal River and they do the same section twice. The tubing/kayaking section is about 25 minutes and then you will go back and do the same section again.
Is the hot spring pass for 1 or 2 days?
A 2 day hot spring pass is included and you have access to the Los Perdidos hot springs, Las Lagunas and Club Rio hot springs.
So if you want to go back to the Springs Resort and Spa the day after for the hot springs you can, the entrance is free. However they do not provide transportation for the second day so you will need to find your own ride (taxi or drive). Additionally, the hot spring pass must be used on consecutive days. No food or drink included on the day you use the second day of the hot spring pass.
What should I bring/wear?
If you’re doing the kayaking or tubing, please bring your swimsuit, a change of clothes and closed toed shoes that can get wet. Club Rio has lockers, changing rooms, showers and bathrooms and they have water shoes for rent or purchase.
If you’re doing the sanctuary walk, rock wall, horseback ride or nature walk, please wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. For the horseback riding tour, your shoes may be getting a bit wet as you will be crossing rivers.
Also bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. You can bring an action camera like a GoPro to mount on the helmet, just make sure to bring the adjoining mount piece.
Am I allowed to go to their other restaurants or bars on the Springs Resort and Spa?
Yes! But if you want to get drinks or other food at the Springs Resort and Spa restaurants, it is not included in the package. Only lunch at the Club Rio restaurant is which must be consumed on the day you do the two activities.
Does Club Rio pick up at Airbnbs or vacation rentals?
No, they do not, you will need to meet them at the closest hotel if you book private transportation. In the form, please write the name of the closest hotel for pick up.
