  • Manuel Antonio National Park is home to hundreds of mammals, birds, insects and reptiles as well as many flowers, plants and trees. Learn the secrets of this beautiful national park on this 2-2.5 hour (about 2 mile walk) guided walk through the park where your knowledgeable and certified naturalist guide will take you through the trails to spot exotic wildlife. All guides have Pentax and Swarovski telescopes so you can see the animals up close.

    Price: $62 USD per person. Children 5 and under don't have a charge for the tour but they still have a fee for the national park ticket

    If you would like to stay in the national park after your guided walk, you can do so. Transportation is not included if you decide to stay later, so the guide will show you where to catch a taxi or the public bus back to your hotel.

  • Carara National Park is a true wildlife sanctuary, home to nearly half of Costa Rica's bird population making it one of the best places for birders and bird enthusiasts. Your naturalist guide will point out birds and various wildlife, while sharing interesting information about this unique ecosystem in Carara National Park. This is one of the best places to see Scarlet Macaws in Costa Rica! You will also visit Tarcoles Bridge to see crocodiles after the national park. The tour goes through 2 trails that are around 2 miles each.

  • The Savegre river is one of the best in Costa Rica for white water rafting. The start of the river is a 1 hour and 20 minute drive from Manuel Antonio. Savegre river has Class 3 rapids and runs all year long, perfect for outdoor adventurers. You'll raft through the pristine river, surrounded by tropical rainforest and may see some beautiful birds and wildlife during the rafting. Sometimes during dry season (January -April), there may be some Class 2 rapids. The drive back to the operation center at the end of the tour is 30 minutes where you will change and have lunch at the end of the tour.

  • The Naranjo river is only 40 minutes outside of Manuel Antonio and offers a truly exhilarating and fun outdoor adventure with Class 3 and 4 rapids. You'll first go to their operation center in Londres to get equipped for the tour and go through the safety talk. Once everyone's ready, your guide will push you off the banks of the Naranjo River to go rafting! Halfway through the tour, you'll stop for a short break to enjoy the views. After the 1 hour and 45 minute rafting tour, you will have lunch at their operation center.

    Price: $75 USD per person.

    Difficulty: Difficult

  • For extreme adventurers, the El Chorro rafting tour is not to be missed! This is a Class 4 white water rafting tour on the upper section of the Naranjo River, 45 minutes from Manuel Antonio. In dry season, it is normally Class 4 and in rainy season, can get up to Class 5 so you need to be an experienced rafter in good shape. The most exciting part of the tour is that the river goes through a narrow gorge, making the tour even more heart pumping.

    Price: $99 USD per person.

    Pick up time is around 7 AM

    Duration is 4 hours

    Difficulty: Strenuous/Challenging

    Must be at least 16 years old

    Minimum 2 people

    Operates January - May

  • Glide through the stunning Damas Island Mangroves by way of kayak. You'll follow your trusty guide through the mangroves to experience this unique ecosystem up close and personal. Kayaking provides a more intimate opportunity to see wildlife like monkeys, herons, woodpeckers, iguanas and lizards. You will kayak for about 2 hours and 15 minutes and the mangrove is very calm with soft waters so it is easy kayaking. The Damas Island mangrove is about a 35 minute drive from Manuel Antonio.

  • Navigate through the Damas Island mangroves by motorized boat for an easy and leisurely day of wildlife watching. Your guide and boat captain will point out exciting wildlife like monkeys, anteaters, bats, iguanas, herons, kingfishers and otters. You'll learn about the different mangrove trees and this very unique ecosystem. Damas Island Mangroves are a 35 minute drive from Manuel Antonio and Quepos.

  • Immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture and local farm life on this local flavor tour. You'll first stop at the local farmer's market in Quepos where the guide will help you pick out the ingredients needed for lunch. After shopping, you will be taken to the Tucanes ranch and farm in Londres where you will begin a fun and interactive cooking class. You'll learn about a few traditional Costa Rican dishes and you will get to make your own tortillas, banana ceviche and minced meats.

  • Ride through picturesque trails in the rainforests of Londres, a small town outside of Manuel Antonio. You will first be taken to the horse stables in Londres, part of the Tucanes Tours private ranch to gear up and be given the safety talk. Then you will ride 2.5 hours (total) with your guide, ending at a small but charming waterfall where you can cool off in the waters or lay in the grass. When you arrive back at the ranch, you will have lunch/dinner.

  • Exact tour time will be given by Tucanes Tours when tour is confirmed.
  • For the outdoor adventurer, the ocean kayak and snorkel tour is an ideal choice. You'll head to the Quepos pier to gear up and launch your kayaks with your guide for the 2.5 (roundtrip) tour. You will kayak to Biesanz Beach, about a 45 minute one way kayak to snorkel and relax on the beautiful beach. After the break, you'll kayak back to the pier. Animals to see are turtles, parrotfish, starfish, angelfish and pelicans.

  • Ziplining is a must do in Costa Rica and this heart pumping canopy tour in Manuel Antonio is an excellent choice for all travelers. This zipline course has 11 cables and 22 platforms, a couple suspension bridges and a fun tarzan swing. You'll zipline through secondary forest and soar over the treetops for an exhilarating experience.

  • A fun way to experience the ocean is by way of catamaran. You'll board the catamaran in Quepos marina where you will then set sail out into the ocean to see beautiful coastal views. After sailing around the coastline, the catamaran will anchor at Biesanz beach where you can swim, snorkel or relax. Beverages, lunch and snacks are served on board. From July - November, it is possible to see humpback whales.

    STRICT Cancellation Policy

    Cancellation must be made a full 48 hours prior to the service (pick up time) otherwise a penalty of 100% will be applied. No refunds for no shows. No refunds for cancellations the day of. Changes flexible but dependent on availability and must be notified at least 48 hours in advance. Refunds are given via the way the deposit was paid. If tour is cancelled after 180 days since payment was completed, the refund is given by Paypal only.

Manuel Antonio Tours Discount FAQ

Does Tucanes Tours pick up at Airbnbs?

No, they do not so you will need to find the closest hotel to your location for pick up and drop off.

I’m a solo traveler. Can I still get the discount?

Yes! But we do need to check availability because you can only join tours that are already open. If there are tours already running, then we can book you for it and give you the discount.

What is the cancellation policy?

If cancelled in less than 48 hours of pick up time and date, it is 100% penalty fee. No refunds for no shows.

      There is a public bus from Quepos to Manuel antonio about every 30 minutes or so, and then there are many naturalist guides for hire at the park entrance, just make sure to ask them to show you their ICT certification badge to prove they are a liecnsed and certified guide.
