Overall

Sky Adventures is a fantastic option for those looking for the fastest, longest and most thrilling zipline tours in Costa Rica.

It may not have a tarzan swing or Superman cable like other tours, but the views alone on cables going up to 70 kmph will keep your heart pounding the whole time!

The park does get quite busy during the high tourism season from December through April.

Although they have many guides that do a great job of keeping the flow and organizing the groups into the designated time slots, sometimes you may have to wait on the platform for a little bit for your turn.

As the park’s only 30 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, and close to Mistico Hanging Bridges Park, Arenal 1968 and Arenal Volcano National Park, you can combine your zipline/aerial tram/hanging bridges walk with another great activity in the morning or afternoon.

You can do the ziplining tour in the morning, hike Arenal Volcano National Park afterwards, and then end the day at the hot springs at a resort such as Ecotermales, Baldi, Paradise, or Tabacon (some of our favorites).

Check out our La Fortuna itineraries to see what else we recommend for 1 – 4 days.

Hi Sammi! What is the maximum number of people for the tram/ziplining tour? We have 7 adults, is that enough for a private tour? Also, what happens if one group member chickens out on a zip line? Do they get through the route by other means, or go back to the start, or what? Thanks!

    1. Sammi

Hello Brenda, there isn’t private tours, but your group of 7 will stay together during the tram and zipline, you have to split up for the aerial tram since the cars can’t hold all 7 people but otherwise you’ll stay together. For the zipline, the first cable is a practice, and if anyone wants to leave, they can leave after this practice cable. After the second cable, there is no exit and everyone has to finish the circuit.

  2. Bailee

Hi! Is it possible to buy your tickets there, or should we reserve in advance? I have a 12 almost 13 year old daughter that is not 100% sure that she is brave enough to do it, so I just hate to pay for her then she change her mind.

    thanks so much!

    1. Sammi

Hi Bailee, it depends on when you are visiting because in high tourism season, spots do sell out quickly and availability can be limited if you’re on a tight schedule so it’s best to reserve beforehand. But if you’re flexible, you can definitely wait a couple days before and just pick whatevers available

  3. Mae

You mention “You can do the ziplining tour in the morning, hike Arenal Volcano National Park afterwards, and then end the day at the hot springs”. Are the hot springs part of the package or do we have to go elsewhere?
    Thank you

    1. Sammi

Hi Mae, Sky Adventures doesn’t have their own hot springs, you’ll need to go to a hot springs resort in La Fortuna, not too far from Sky.

  4. Bonnie marie Tibbitts

what information do you have about white water rafting on the Tenorio river? we will be in Bijagua for 3 or 4 nights in December
Is 4 night too long? we are going to spend 5 nights in Samaura after leaving Bijagua.
    Thank you

    1. Sammi

Bijagua is a very cute town but 4 nights is a bit long, although if you are just looking to relax, do nothing, enjoy nature, go birdwatching, then that may be a good enough time for you, but usually people spend 1 or 2 nights in Bijagua to visit the national park and then one day to go birding or a nature walk. It’s a teeny tiny little town.
