Visitors can do the hike on their own or opt for a naturalist guide to enrich their experience. For those short on time or prefer a leisurely walk at their own pace, a guide is not really required nor needed.
2.5 hours on a guided walk, 1.5-2 hours on a self guided walk.
For those interested in learning about the secrets of the rainforest, a guided walk will be very interesting.
The natural trail does have some elevation and uneven terrain, but as it goes deeper into the rainforest, all you hear are cicadas, monkeys and birds.
The longest hanging bridges are 127 meters (416 feet) in length and 46 meters (150 feet) in height and 143 meters (469 feet) long and 70 meters (229 feet) high.
You’ll then reach a viewpoint, called El Millon, to see Lake Arenal and El Castillo.
Continue onwards, and there are some bathrooms and then you will reach the end of the trail, exiting the way you came in.
The guided hanging bridges walk is around 2.5 hours long. If you walk the hanging bridges trail on your own, it can take you around 1.5 hours.
Overall
Sky Adventures is a fantastic option for those looking for the fastest, longest and most thrilling zipline tours in Costa Rica. It may not have a tarzan swing or Superman cable like other tours, but the views alone on cables going up to 70 kmph will keep your heart pounding the whole time!
The park does get quite busy during the high tourism season from December through April. Although they have many guides that do a great job of keeping the flow and organizing the groups into the designated time slots, sometimes you may have to wait on the platform for a little bit for your turn.
As the park’s only 30 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, and close to Mistico Hanging Bridges Park, Arenal 1968 and Arenal Volcano National Park, you can combine your zipline/aerial tram/hanging bridges walk with another great activity in the morning or afternoon.
You can do the ziplining tour in the morning, hike Arenal Volcano National Park afterwards, and then end the day at the hot springs.
