Nestled along the pristine coastline of Tamarindo beach, the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort offers guests a welcoming Costa Rican beach stay with luxury amenities on a beautiful property. With three different sections, ocean view rooms, three pools and a beachfront restaurant, the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort is the perfect home away from home for those who want a comfortable and upscale stay in Costa Rica.
In this post, we share with you our experience and thoughts about the Tamarindo Diria so you can see what it’s like and decide if it’s the right hotel for your stay.
The Rooms
The Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort has three different sections of rooms. Although all the rooms are very similar in size and distribution, what differs is their location. They have sunset ocean view rooms (beach front), family pool rooms and adult only rooms, all in their own respective sections with their own pool.
The ocean view rooms are beach front and have amazing views of the beach and gardens so you won’t miss a sunset. The family pool and adult only rooms are located across the street, tucked away in the back section.
All rooms have similar distributions and sizes as mentioned before but the location and views are different. It’s nice they have different options so you can choose depending on what you want and your budget as the family style rooms are a bit cheaper.
Room configurations are either two double beds or one king. Adult only rooms are ages 18+. Max number of people per room is 4 in the ocean view and family pool rooms and 3 people in the adult only rooms.
The Property
The Tamarindo Diria property is fairly big as they have three sections with their own pools. They also have a beachfront restaurant where they serve a buffet breakfast (included in room rate), lunch and dinner. This restaurant is open to the public for lunch and dinner.
For a beachfront restaurant at a luxury resort, prices are very reasonable and the food was tasty! They also have a bar with lots of different cocktails and drink options.
They also have a gym, lounge chairs, a tour desk and lots of seating around the property. The pool near the beach is not that big but the family pool is very nice and big. It has lush gardens, a swim up bar, amphitheater, lounge chairs and a kids club.
The family pool is open for everyone and the adult only section has their own large pool.
How to Get to Tamarindo Diria
The closest international airport is the Guanacaste Airport. It is about a 1 hour and 25 minute drive to Tamarindo from Guanacaste Airport (airport code LIR).
By rental car: A 4×4/4wd is not required to get to Tamarindo. Tamarindo Diria has free parking for guests.

Hi! Planning a stay at a rental cottage at the Diria beach resort complex. Can you use the pools and / or pay to use the kids club while staying at a rental condo there?
If so how much is the kids club and what are the hours?
Thanks
Sammi says
Hi Kristin, I’m not sure about the rentals since they are separate from the hotel itself. I would contact your rentals and see.
