The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most famous reserves in Costa Rica, protecting 3500 hectares of precious tropical cloud forest. On this guided walk, your guide will share with you information and facts about this unique ecosystem, point out wildlife and take you around a couple of the trails inside the cloud forest. Wildlife you may see are butterflies, birds, insects, monkeys and if you’re lucky, the Resplendant Quetzal during the season.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Day Tour Time(Required)

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most famous reserves in Costa Rica, protecting 3500 hectares of precious tropical cloud forest. On this guided night walk, your guide will lead you through the trails in the cloud forest reserve so you can experience and hear the sounds of the cloud forest all around you. During this 1 mile long walk (1.6 km), your guide will stop and look for various animals like nocturnal mammals, insects and sleeping birds.

The Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve protects over 300 hectares of pure tropical cloud forest. Sitting at around 1600 meters in elevation, this reserve is perfect for those who want to experience the best of the tropical cloud forest and its climate, flora and fauna. The Santa Elena Reserve tends to be less crowded than the Monteverde Reserve as well. During this guided tour, your guide will lead you along one of the trails to a viewpoint of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal on a clear day, while sharing information about the reserve, the cloud forest and pointing out various flora and fauna.

Santa Elena Cloud Forest Day Tour Time(Required)

Take a leisurely horseback ride through a private 80 hectare (197 acre) farm to see forest, open fields, coffee and banana plantations and a view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Embark on a wild waterfall hike just 30 minutes outside downtown Santa Elena. This hike takes you into the forests to see 6-8 waterfalls and walk on a network of hanging bridges of various heights and lengths. Must be in good physical condition, cannot have any ankle/knee problems and must be able to walk at least 5 miles on natural paths of rocks, tree branches, dirt.

Cancellation and Changes Policy

The tour has to be prepaid in full in order to make the reservation with our discount. We will send you an invoice for payment. We don’t accept echecks. Prices are in USD and include all taxes and fees. After you submit your booking request, we will get in contact with you within the next 24 hours. If you have any questions, please email us at web@mytanfeet.com. Mytanfeet is a registered Costa Rican company. We are a 100% Costa Rican travel consulting company based in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Changes flexible but dependent on availability and may occur a change fee. Cancellation policies apply to any change requests. If tour is cancelled after 180 days since payment was completed, the refund is given by Paypal only. Rates may change without prior notice. Strict cancellation policy: We will give a full refund minus a 5% administration service fee for cancellations received at least 8 days before tour service. 100% penalty applies for cancellation requests received 7 days or less before tour service. All cancellation requests must be sent via email and confirmed to be taken into effect. No refunds for no shows. No refunds if you are late and miss the shuttle. No refunds if you leave early on the tour. Cancellations due to health reasons require a doctor’s note in order not to be penalized if cancelled in 7 or less days before tour service.

Monteverde Tours FAQ

Is roundtrip transportation included in the Monteverde tours?

Yes! Roundtrip transportation is included for those in Monteverde (Santa Elena, Cerro Plano, Monteverde, Perro Negro, Barro Orquideas, Cañitas) and only from hotels. If you are staying at an Airbnb, VRBO or vacation rental, you need to find the closest hotel to your location to use as a meeting point for pick up and drop off.

Transportation is not included for places outside Monteverde.

I am a solo traveler, can I join a tour?

Yes! We will check availability and let you know as all tours require a minimum of 2 adults to operate. If there are other people who are booked for the same tour you want, we can book you for it as well.

However, please note that if the other group cancels and the 2 adult minimum is not reached, we will advise you that the tour can no longer operate and give you your options (refund/reschedule/book another tour). We will advise you as soon as possible to organize this in case this happens.

I watched the video of the night walk you took with Finca Santa Maria. Is that a tour I can book with you here? I saw the Curi Cancha tour, the Monteverde Cloud forest tour, and Children’s Eternal Rainforest Tour listed, but not Finca Santa Maria. I wasn’t sure if I was missing it.
