If you have only one full day in Monteverde and want to do and see as much as possible, then Selvatura Park is a fantastic park we recommend you to visit.
This adventure eco-park has a variety of activities to enjoy, perfect for a day in the cloud forest.
And since Selvatura Park sits at nearly 1600 meters (5250 feet) in elevation, you really get the cloud forest experience!
Selvatura Park offers hanging bridges, ziplining, butterfly garden, reptile and amphibian exhibit and sloth sanctuary center. Activities can be booked individually or as a package.
The most popular package is the Gold Pack which is the zipline and hanging bridges tour. But you can opt for a full day if you are short on time in Monteverde and want to do as much as possible in one day.

- Confirmation will be given upon tour booking, which must be prepaid in full to book.
- The Superman upgrade has an extra fee and visitors must be at least 55 kg (121 lbs) and the minimum height is 1.55 m (5.08 ft).
- For the zipline, the weight limit is 255 lbs (115 kilos) and must fit XL harness size.
- Lunch is not included but you may go to the on site restaurant to purchase food.
- This area is located higher in elevation so it can be chilly, rainy and windy. Please bring a sweater or jacket and wear long pants.
- Lockers available for rent.

Important: Monteverde is NOT a zoo. Wildlife sightings are NOT a guarantee. Monteverde is known for the tropical cloud forest which has different wildlife to tropical rainforest, and this area has some of the biggest refuges, reserves and protected areas in the country so wildlife has a lot of places to roam. Do not come with the expectation of seeing wildlife everywhere, Mother Nature will do what it'll do. For better chances to see wildlife, book the guided hanging bridges walk.

What is the weather like in Monteverde?
Monteverde is in the tropical cloud forest, sitting at least 1600 meters in elevation. This means the weather can be windy, cloudy (obviously) and rainy. It does follow the tropical seasons of dry and rainy, with dry season from December to April and rainy season from May to November, but Monteverde can rain any time of the year.
The driest months are February, March and April, and rainiest month is October. Please come prepared for rain any time of the year you visit and wear warmer clothes, as it can be windy.
What is the Superman upgrade?
The Superman upgrade is for the 1 km cable on the zipline tour. Instead of sitting upright, you will use a special harness to lay down, like superman, so you will feel like you are literally flying over the tropical cloud forest on the longest cable of the tour.
This is 100% optional and you must weigh at least 55 kg (121 lbs) and the minimum height is 1.55 m (5.08 ft).
Is the zipline tour suitable for kids?
Yes! The minimum age for the ziplining tour is 4 years of age. Children will go with a guide on the necessary cables.
Is the guided hanging bridges walk worth it?
It can be, if you want to learn more about the tropical cloud forest and have a guide with trained eyes look for wildlife. This is not a specific birding or wildlife tour, but the guide will do their best to spot animals.
