Description
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most famous reserves in Costa Rica, protecting 3500 hectares of precious tropical cloud forest.
On this guided night walk, your guide will lead you through the trails in the cloud forest reserve so you can experience and hear the sounds of the cloud forest all around you.
During this 1 mile long walk (1.6 km), your guide will stop and look for various animals like nocturnal mammals, insects and sleeping birds.

What kind of wildlife will we see?
In the tropical cloud forest, wildlife you may see on the Monteverde Cloud forest night walk are sleeping birds, insects, arachnids, two fingered sloths, snakes and frogs.
Please note that wildlife is not guaranteed but the guide will do their best to find as many animals as possible. Mother Nature will do what its going to do and the cloud forest reserve is NOT A ZOO.
How many people are in one group?
No more than 9 people per guide.
How long and hard is the trail?
The trail is 1 mile (1.6 km) and is easy level. The pace is slow, as the guide will be stopping a lot to look for animals and interesting things to show you.
What should I wear?
Long pants, a jacket with long sleeves, closed shoes like walking, running or hiking shoes. NO sandals, flip flops, or loose shoes or any kind.
Can I bring my own flashlight?
Yes, if you have your own you can bring it. The guide will check it out to make sure it's suitable to use and show you how to shine the lights as not to disturb the animals.
