Description
Enjoy a fun day in the sun, out in the ocean with your loved ones on this Manuel Antonio catamaran tour. Choose between the morning or afternoon option, depending on the time of year you visit.
You'll board the catamaran at Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, where you'll be greeted by the local friendly crew as you set sail down the coastline of Manuel Antonio.
Along the cruise, you may spot dolphins, humpback whales during the season (Dec-April and July-Nov), and turtles!
You'll cruise for about an hour before reaching Biesanz bay where you can jump in to swim, snorkel and cool off. In ideal conditions, this bay offers the best Manuel Antonio snorkeling opportunities and a local guide will go with you to take you snorkeling.
For the adventurous ones, you can go down the water slide or jump off the boat to add more excitement to your Manuel Antonio catamaran adventure!
After about 1.5 hours docked at the bay, everyone will board the catamaran and start the cruise back to the marina. Along the way, you'll enjoy a hearty lunch prepared by the crew: grilled fresh fish, pasta salad, tropical fruit (papaya, watermelon, pineapple), coffee, cocktails and natural fruit juice.
*Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies to accommodate them.*
If you book the Manuel Antonio sunset cruise, you'll cruise back under a gorgeous sky of changing colors as the sun goes down.

Is this tour family friendly or more like a party boat?
Yes! This tour is family friendly and it is also fun for friend groups and adults. It is not a booze cruise, cocktails are included but excessive consumption of alcohol is not allowed. The crew will be looking after the group all the time and will prevent excessive consumption of alcohol as safety is the highest priority. Non alcoholic drinks like juice are available.
Kids can go down the waterslide, jump off the boat, snorkel, swim and enjoy a fun day out in the ocean with their family.
How is the snorkeling?
Snorkeling in Costa Rica is not consistent, especially in this area of Manuel Antonio, especially in the rainy season. In the rainy season, conditions are extremely variable and can change instantly.
If conditions are ideal, you may see some tropical fish and if you're very lucky, a turtle.
If snorkeling is your main goal and you expect to see crystal clear waters full of vibrant corals and reef life, this is not the tour for you. We recommend to book the Caño Island snorkeling tour in Uvita instead, as this tour goes to the second best snorkel spot in Costa Rica. We can help you book this tour from Manuel Antonio.*
What other wildlife can we see?
It is possible to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat and during the peak humpback whale season months of August and September, humpback whales.
You may also see turtles or manta rays while cruising on the boat.
Is the boat very rocky?
The Tom Cat is a large stable catamaran but if you get seasick or motion sickness at all, please take motion sickness medicine beforehand, as the boat can move much more especially during the rainy season and it is windy out.
How many people are on the tour?
The Manuel Antonio catamaran tour can take up to 100 guests on the Tom Cat. These are shared tours so you will be sharing the boat with other people. If you wish to book a private tour, please let us know in the comments and we can give you a quote.
