Description

Manuel Antonio National Park was once placed on a list of the most beautiful national parks in the world, and on this guided tour, you will witness with your own eyes first hand, exactly why.

Your expert local guide will lead you through the rainforest trails, walking slowly to spot various animals up in the rainforest tree tops.

Equipped with Pentax and Swarovski telescopes, your guide will find fascinating wildlife such as sloths, white face monkeys, squirrel monkeys, deer, raccoons, iguanas, frogs and birds like toucans, the Great Potoo and birds of prey and share interesting information and history about the surrounding flora and fauna.

The 2 mile (3.2 km) trail is mostly flat, going through the rainforest and along the beach, providing beautiful views of the coast.

Once you arrive at the stunning beach with baby blue waters and white sand, you can rest or take a dip in the ocean.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I stay in the national park after the tour?

Yes, you can.

You MUST inform your tour guide before the tour is over, that you wish to stay in the national park. If you stay in the national park, the tour operator will not provide transportation back to your hotel. The tour guide can tell you how to take the public bus or taxi, or you can call an Uber. You will also not get the snack.

It is important to note that national park tickets are a one-entry ticket, you cannot use them for multiple entries in one day and they are only valid for that day.

What is the trail like?

The trail is on a mostly natural rock, sand and dirt path, and there is an opportunity to walk the universal access trail which is on wooden platforms.

The total trail length is around 2 miles or 3.2 kilometers.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothes for walking on hot and humid weather, like dry fit clothes. You can wear walking shoes, or an adventure sandal. Plan for temperatures in the high 80s° F (31° C) and high humidity.

Plastic water bottles are not allowed in the national park, so bring an insulated reusable water bottle.

Can I bring food into the park?

No. The national park does not allow food inside, the park rangers check your backpacks before entering. There is a cafeteria inside the national park if you wish to buy something to eat/drink.

How big are the groups?

The group size has a maximum of 12 people per guide.

Is the morning or afternoon schedule better?

The morning tends to have the most people and more tour groups. The afternoon tends to have less groups.

If you are visiting in the rainy season from May through November, it is best to go in the morning due to the weather. In rainy season, it tends to be sunny and dry in the morning and start to rain in the early afternoon.

Both schedules are great and offer opportunities to see wildlife.

How long do we stay at the beach?

About 20 minutes. You can rest at the beach at the picnic tables and chairs, or take a swim.

There are bathrooms, showers and changing rooms.
