This Vista Los Sueños one day tour from San Jose allows visitors to explore the highlights of the Central Pacific coast, just a 90 minute drive from the capital city.
You'll get picked up from your hotel in San Jose, drive around 90 minutes down the Central Pacific coast and reach the Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park, located outside Playa Herradura, where you'll enjoy a full day of fun in the mountain or beach!
Choose two of the following activities: ATV with waterfalls, zipline, horseback riding to natural pools, chocolate experience or surf lessons for your one day excursion.
Each activity is around 2 hours long.
ATV with waterfalls: Enjoy driving a single or buddying up on a double ATV for an off-road adventure through the rainforest and to waterfalls.
Zipline: Hop on a tractor for a scenic 15 minute ride up the mountains to the start of the zipline tour. Then you'll fly through the forest via 10 cables and 12 platforms, approximately 3.5 total kms, with beautiful views of Herradura Bay and the surrounding mountains.
Horseback riding to natural pools: Ride on your trusty steed through the lush rainforest trails and spot wildlife along the way, and then at the natural pools you can take a swim and relax before riding back.
Surf lessons: Learn to surf on a fun and safe 2 hour surf lesson at the famous Jaco Beach.
Chocolate experience: Discover the secrets of cacao on this chocolate experience and learn how Costa Rica grows cacao trees and processes it to make the delicious sweet treat we all love. Chocolate tasting included!
Lunch, bilingual guides and round trip transportation are included in your fun adventure day trip from San Jose.

- Confirmation will be given upon tour booking, which must be prepaid in full to book.
- Minimum 2 people to operate.
- Pick up time between 6-7 AM, tour duration time around 10 hours.
- All ATV drivers must be at least 18 years of age with a driver's license to drive.
- If your two activities are the ATV and horseback riding or vice versa, there will be an additional $65 USD per person fee.
- Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in activities except for chocolate experience.
- Weight limit for ziplining and horseback riding is 115 kgs or 250 lbs.
What to Bring/Wear
Vista Los Sueños has bathrooms, changing rooms, showers and lockers for free (locker has $10 USD deposit).
- Comfortable outdoor clothes that dry fast and wick away moisture (like workout clothes).
- Towels, swimsuit (if doing the surf lessons or waterfalls tour), dry bag, change of dry clothes, plastic bag to hold wet clothes.
- Closed shoes for the adventure activities. No open sandals, no flip flops.
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, appropriate sun wear, insect repellent.

I'm a solo traveler, can I book the tour?
Yes, if there is already a tour operating with other people. If there isn't, you will either have to pay for 2 spaces, or we will look for availability close to your dates.
Do I need any surfing, horseback riding, or ATV experience?
Nope! All of these tours are apt for first timers. Safety is the highest priority and the guides will always be looking out for the guests. Helmets will be worn for the horseback riding, ATV and ziplining tour.
