These cancellation and change policies apply to Arenal 1968 entrance, natural history walks, birdwatching and night walks booked through Mytanfeet.
All cancellations and changes must be requested by email to Mytanfeet to take effect.
Cancellations and refunds
- More than 72 hours before the tour date and start time, we provide a full refund minus the 5% administration fee.
- From 48 to 72 hours before the tour date and start time, we provide a 50% refund minus the 5% administration fee.
- Less than 48 hours before the tour date and start time, a 100% penalty applies and there is no refund.
- No shows receive no refund.
If a cancellation is made more than 180 days after the original booking date, any refund will be issued through PayPal only. We do not accept eChecks as payment.
Changes to your booking
One change is allowed, subject to availability. We must receive your change request more than 48 hours before the tour date and start time for it to be considered. Fees may apply, and the cancellation policy also applies to change requests.
Weather and operator changes
Weather conditions outside the tour operator’s control may require changes to the schedule, activity location or planned activities without a refund or rate adjustment. The park evaluates each case and determines the appropriate action.
Transportation and pickup
Shared transportation can wait 5 to 10 minutes after the confirmed pickup time. If you do not arrive within that window, you will be considered a no show and no refund will be given.
Private transportation can wait 10 to 15 minutes after the confirmed pickup time. If you miss the transportation, you will be considered a no show and no refund will be given.
Arriving with your own transportation
Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time. If you arrive 5 to 10 minutes late, the park will try to fit you in, but you may miss activities that will not be made up.
If you arrive 10 to 15 minutes late or later, you may join the group if it is still nearby. Otherwise, your options are to wait for the next time slot or take the self guided route.
Children and group size
Birdwatching and the night walk are for ages 6 and older. Children under 6 cannot participate in these two tours. Please provide the exact age of each child when requesting other experiences.
Tours and shared transportation generally require at least two participants. Children and infants count toward transportation charges. Our team will confirm the requirements for your group.
Clothing and park rules
Fully enclosed shoes and a shirt are required. Swimsuits, smoking, plastic bottles, drones, coolers containing food and pets are not allowed.
Service animals may be allowed with valid identification and must remain under their owner’s control. Inform the park before arrival if you will be accompanied by a service animal.
Mytanfeet administration fee
When a client cancels a tour booked through Mytanfeet, we apply a 5% administration fee. This helps cover transaction fees that PayPal and other major payment processors do not return when we issue a refund.
We pay our team above average wages, hire local staff who are Costa Rican citizens and comply with Costa Rica’s labor laws. We cover all employee benefits and mandatory contributions, including CCSS for universal healthcare and social security, and INS for occupational risk insurance. We also work exclusively with certified and insured service providers.
The 5% administration fee helps cover unavoidable costs while maintaining fair compensation for our team and high quality service for our readers and clients.

Mytanfeet LLC is registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel, Registration number ST44660.
Mytanfeet in Costa Rica is registered with the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT) as an official travel agency. It is a separate company from Mytanfeet LLC in the United States.
