On this combo tour, you will experience the rainforest from a completely different perspective by walking above the treetops on a guided hanging bridges walk and then flying over the jungle on a zipline tour.
For the guided hanging bridges walk, your knowledgeable bilingual guide will share with you the secrets of the rainforest, pointing out various flora and fauna you see on the way. The walking time is around 2.5 hours on a trail network of 6 hanging bridges and 10 regular bridges, all with stunning views of the Arenal Volcano and the surrounding rainforest.
After your rainforest walk, you'll then go to the zipline park to gear up and fly through the jungle. The zipline circuit has 13 platforms and 8 cables with different intensity, length, speed, and amazing views of the Arenal rainforest.
End the day with a full adrenaline experience by launching yourself into the rainforest on the optional Tarzan swing.

Is previous experience required for the ziplining?
No, previous experience is not required. The ziplining tour is family friendly and ideal for first timers.
The guides will give everyone a safety talk and instructions on how to enjoy the ziplining safely.
What is the age and weight requirements for this tour?
Minimum age for this combination tour is 5 years old to participate in both activities.
For the ziplining, the maximum waist width cannot exceed 50.4 inches (130 cm) due to the size of the harness.
Pregnant women, people with epilepsy and people who had recent surgery or have major health conditions are not allowed to participate in the ziplining activity.
Does the hanging bridges walk include a lot of climbing or steps?
There is some elevation on the hike, around a 7 degree slope but the path is completely concrete and asphalted, there aren't any sections through mud or water. There are not very many steps. It is a moderate level walk with the entire trail length of about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles).
I am afraid of heights. Can I still do the walk?
To do the entire guided walk, you must cross the bridges which include both hanging and fixed bridges. The highest bridge is 148 feet (45 meters) tall.
There are emergency exits in a couple spots along the trail, but if you want to leave, the guide cannot go back with you, as they cannot leave the rest of the group. If you wish to leave on your own, you will forfeit the rest of the tour and there will be no refund.
What animals can I see?
Animals commonly seen on the Arenal Hanging Bridges guided walk are howler monkeys, spider monkeys, eyelash pit vipers, owls, hummingbirds and other birds.
What shoes should I wear?
At the hanging bridges park, you have to wear completely closed shoes so tennis shoes, hiking shoes, walking shoes. No sandals of any kind, loose or with straps.
If you wear shoes that are not completely closed to the hanging bridges park, you will be required to sign a waiver saying the hanging bridges park is not responsible for any damages or injuries from not wearing fully closed shoes. If you do not sign the waiver, you cannot walk the trails.
For ziplining, closed shoes are best but adventure sandals with a heel and front strap are acceptable. No sandals with an open back, flip flops or any type of loose shoes.
What is the Tarzan Swing and do I have to do it?
The Tarzan Swing is a platform about 38 meters (124 feet) high that you jump off of and swing into the rainforest, connected with a harness and cables. This is a completely optional activity. You do not have to do it if you don't want to and you can decide at the time when you arrive at the platform if you wish to participate or not.
If you do not do the tarzan swing, you have to wait for the other participants at bottom of the tower until they are done to complete the canopy circuit. You can watch those doing the tarzan swing.
Do I need to brake by myself on the zipline?
Yes, there are some cables that require manual hand braking. The guides let you know which cables require the manual hand braking.
During the safety talk and instructions, the guides will show you how to brake manually by hand. It does require some force to be exerted using your dominant hand that will be holding the cable while you zipline.
Can I meet the group at the park instead?
Yes, it is possible if you have your own rental car. You can meet the group at the first activity, then follow the bus to the next activity.
There is free parking at both locations. If you are late and do not meet the group on time, you will forfeit the tour and it is a 100% penalty fee.
There is no additional discount if you decide to provide your own transportation and do not go with the tour provider's transportation. We will advise you of your meeting time and place in the confirmation.
