Description
Costa Rica is well known in the coffee world for producing some of the highest quality coffee. Coffee has been such an important crop for Costa Rica that without it, the country would look very different than it does today!
During this 2 hours tour, you will visit a small, local family owned farm in La Fortuna to learn about the coffee plant, how they grow the trees, how they harvest the cherries and process the delicious coffee beans.
Not only will you see the entire process from cherry to cup, but you will learn about organic farming and sustainable practices that the small local family farms implement.
This tour is very hands on, so prepare to step into the shoes of a coffee farmer for a couple of hours. You'll also enjoy plenty of delicious coffee samples.

How much of this tour is indoor and outdoor?
Half and half. You will first tour the coffee farm which is outdoors and then you will move in an open air, under roof area to learn about the drying and roasting process. For the coffee tasting and samples, it is also done under roof.
Can we buy coffee to take home?
Yes, there will be bags of coffee for purchase.
Do we get to sample coffee?
Yes! At the end of the tour, you will have a coffee tasting and sampling.
