Tucanes Tours Cancellation Policies
These are the cancellation and changes policy for Tucanes Tours who is the tour operator we partner with and who runs these tours.
If cancelled in less than 48 hours of tour time and date, it is a 100% penalty fee. If cancelled outside the 48 hour window, we will give a full refund minus a 5% administration service fee.
All cancellation requests must be written to us via email and confirmed in writing via email to be taken into effect.
No refunds for no shows, for cancellations the day of the tour, if you are late and miss the bus or if you leave a tour early by your own decision.
For shared services, the bus can only wait 10 minutes after the confirmed tour pick up/meeting time, after that, it will be considered a "no show" 100% penalty fee and staff will leave the location.
For payments, we do not accept eChecks.
Refunds are given the same way invoices were completed. If cancellation is made after 180 days from the original payment date, refunds will only be issued via PayPal.
Groups: For groups of 10 people, the cancellation policy is 100% penalty if cancelled in less than 1 week of tour time and date. If cancelled outside the 1 week window, we will give a full refund minus a 5% administration service fee.
All cancellation requests must be sent via email to Mytanfeet with written confirmation from Mytanfeet to avoid the penalty.
For cancellations that include national park visits, there will be a penalty of 20% of the rate and a 5% administration fee if cancelled before 5 days of the tour start time and date.
For Manuel Antonio National Park tours: cancellations or modifications between one week and 48 hours before the tour date and pick up time will have a penalty of $22.60 USD + a 5% administration fee per person.
Changes: Changes are dependent upon availability and change requests must be received in more than 48 hours before the tour start time and date to be considered. Fees may apply.
When a client cancels a tour booked through Mytanfeet, we apply a 5% administration fee. This is because PayPal and other major payment processors do not refund their transaction fees when a refund to the client has been issued.
In addition, Mytanfeet takes pride in operating responsibly. We pay our team above average wages, hire local staff (Costa Rican citizens), and comply with Costa Rica’s labor laws by covering all employee benefits and mandatory contributions, including CCSS (universal healthcare/social security) and INS (occupational risk insurance). We also work exclusively with only certified and insured service providers.
For these reasons, the small 5% administration fee in scenarios of a cancellation, helps us cover unavoidable costs while still maintaining fair compensation for our team and providing high quality service for our readers and clients.
