Manuel Antonio National Park was named one of the most beautiful national parks in the world and on this full day tour, you'll explore its lush rainforests, swim in its warm waters and walk the nature trails to see wildlife.
Your day begins with pick up from San Jose and along the 3 hour drive to the national park, you'll stop at some places of interest along the way, such as the Jaco view point, Crocodile Bridge and a restaurant for breakfast.
Then, when you arrive at the national park, you have 3 hours to enjoy its natural beauty. The beginning of the visit includes a 20-30 minute guided walk from the national park entrance to the beach, where your knowledgeable guide will point out animals like white face monkeys, squirrel monkeys and sloths.
Afterwards, you'll have the rest of the time to swim, lay on the beach or hike on your own the other trails in the national park. If you wish to walk more, you can walk to Cathedral Point for beautiful views.
When it is time to return back to San Jose, you'll stop at another place for a hearty lunch to refuel and re-energize after a fun day at the national park.

- Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturday and Sundays require a minimum of 2 people booking to operate.

How much time do we get to spend at the national park?
You will have around 3 hours at the national park.
What is the itinerary?
Pick up around 5-6 AM.
Breakfast en route around 7 AM.
Arrive at the national park around 11 AM.

Return to San Jose around 9 PM.
How long is the drive from San Jose to Manuel Antonio National Park?
The driving time is around 3 hours and you will stop along the way for breakfast in the morning. There is also one stop along the way for a bathroom break on the return trip to San Jose.
What is the trail like in the national park?
The trail is on a mostly natural rock, sand and dirt path, and there is an opportunity to walk the universal access trail which is on wooden platforms. The total trail length is around 2 miles or 3.2 kilometers.
What is the Cathedral Point?
This is another trail you can hike after the guided walk. It takes around 30 minutes and is a path that goes on a small section on the beach and the rest of the path is on a wooden platform and then on a natural path.
Can I bring food into the park?
No. The national park does not allow food inside, the park rangers check your backpacks before entering. There is a cafeteria inside the national park if you wish to buy something to eat/drink.
Plastic water bottles are not allowed in the national park, so bring an insulated reusable water bottle. There are filling stations.
What type of clothes should I wear?
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes, like dry fit clothes as the weather is hot and humid. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, they can be closed toed hiking sandals. You do not need hiking shoes or running shoes as the trails and paths are well maintained and partially go on the beach.
If you wish to swim, please bring your swimsuit, towel and change of clothes. There are bathrooms and changing rooms inside the national park.
It is necessary to bring my passport?
Yes, you must bring either your original passport or a photocopy of the ID page (digital or paper copy) to enter the national park. Without this it won't be possible to enter the park.
