On this horseback riding adventure around Arenal Volcano, you'll journey through the pristine and picturesque private reserve of El Silencio with your trusty steed to ride up to sweeping views of the valleys and Arenal Volcano.
The tour starts with your local Costa Rican cowboy and bilingual guide giving you a safety talk and brief introduction to your gentle horse so that every rider feels confident and secure with the reins in hand. After everyone is ready to go, you'll follow the guide through the reserve, strolling through cattle fields, lush forests, and clear streams to see some of the most stunning views in La Fortuna.
This tour is not a fast horseback ride; there will be plenty of moments during the ride to stop, take photos, and soak in the views.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation policy: If the tour is cancelled in less than 24 hours of tour time and date, it is a 100% penalty fee. If cancelled outside the 24 hour window, we will give a full refund minus a 5% administration service fee. All cancellation requests must be written to us via email and confirmed in writing via email to be taken into effect. No refunds for no shows. No refunds for cancellations the day of the tour, no refunds if you are late and miss the bus. No refunds if you leave early on the tour. Refunds are given the same way invoices were completed. If cancellation is made 180 days after the initial payment date, refunds are given only via Paypal. For groups of 10+, the cancellation policy is 100% penalty if cancelled in less than 72 hours. If cancelled outside the 72 hour window, we will give a full refund minus a 5% administration service fee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need previous horseback riding experience?
No. As these horses are well trained, calm and gentle, you do not need any previous riding experience. The guide will choose the appropriate horse for your riding level.
The guide will teach you how to navigate your horse but as the horses are well trained on the trail, you do not need to be an experienced rider.
What is the minimum age for the tour?
Children must be at least 7 years of age to participate in the tour. Children younger than 7 cannot ride with a guide or parent. Each person must ride their own horse.
What is the physical fitness requirement?
This is an easy tour as you will do none to little walking as your horse will do all the walking for you. If you need assistance getting on the horse, the guide will help you.
The maximum weight is 264 lbs (120 kilos).
Pregnant women, those with severe heart conditions and those who have had major surgery in the last 6 months may not participate.
What if it rains during the tour?
This tour will run rain or shine but if there is inclement weather that prevents the tour from running safely, such as lightning, flooding, Red Alerts and the such, we will offer to reschedule the tour. If rescheduling is not possible, we will cancel without a penalty as long as the tour has not begun.
Can I take photos during the tour?
Yes! You may bring your phone on the tour but it needs to be secured in a pocket or with a lanyard. We are not responsible for any damage occurred to any items you bring on the tour.
If you bring a backpack, it must be a waterproof backpack.
