If you are staying on the Guanacaste coast and want to see the rainforest, then this Guanacaste rainforest sloth tour is for you.
As this tour is private, you'll experience the pristine and lush tropical rainforest up close and personal, with your knowledgeable local bilingual naturalist guide.
Your day begins after pick up, stopping first at the incredible Llanos de Cortes waterfall where if conditions are right, you can take a swim or dip your toes.
After this stop, you'll go to the small town of Bijagua, located at the foothills of the Tenorio Volcano. The Heliconias private reserve in Bijagua is where you will enjoy a 2 hour walk through an easy 2.2 kilometers (1.4 miles) trail, crossing a few hanging bridges to get birds eye views of the rainforest canopy.
Afterwards, you'll drive a few minutes to the next stop, a private reserve where you will do a very easy 1 kilometer (<.5 mile) walk to spot sloths, birds, snakes, frogs and other animals in the wild. Your guide is very familiar with this area and will use his expertise and knowledge to spot as many rainforest animals as possible, using their professional equipment like binoculars and scopes so you can get close views.
Lastly, you'll refuel with a traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant, before heading back to your hotel.
